stabilizing footage

So I have two videos here. One which is shaky cam footage and one which has been stabilized.



So as you can see, this footage is kind of shaky. This shot is not steady enough to be used as shot for my teaser trailer, however I did stabilize the shot below.



The shot is now steady and as you can see the girl her stays in the middle of the shot fine. However you can also see some jittering around the outside. This isn’t a problem, as this can be all sorted in virtual dub - the software I use to make the shot steady.

Movie Month ?

For my own magazine cover i have designed my own logo. well I’m in the process of designing it right now. I have already decided on the name “Movie Month”, as a title. The reason I chose this name is because many movie magazines come out monthly and I could image if this was an actual magazine it would be a like a monthly event to talk about movies.

Shaky Cam!!

So with filming my teaser trailer I’ve come across the problem of my shot being very shaky , especially crowd scenes and shot that were shot on top of a bus. So I was figuring out what I could do to make the shots look more steady, since I didn’t want to just get rid of the shots. Then I stumbled across this software.



im going to try out this software and see if it fixes any of my shots.

Plain and simple

So recently I’ve been looking at magazine posters for my own magazine cover. Im mostly mean to look at movie magazines for reference, however I’ve been look at other types of magazines too. Like this one here^. As you can see the front cover is very simple, with only a image of Obama and a few lines of text which is out of the way of the main image. Besides the “TIME” logo of course, but the main head stories of the magazine are placed at the top instead of the bottom, where most magazines place them. This is defiantly a type of front cover design I like to look into. Even EMPIRE magazine has done this type of design. For example the image below.

Ideas for posters.

So forget that this image here is a advert for a set headphones, and look to at the image of just Dr Dre. This image is something that really caught my eye, and gave me a good idea for one of my posters. What I like about this image is how the head of Dr Dre is almost being swallowed by the darkness in this image. Of course I’m not sure if all my posters will be in black and white but I thought this image of Dre was also a good black and white image to look at.
